Indiana State Senator Chris Garten (R-Charlestown) has made the news for all the wrong reasons lately. In March, he basically told rural Hoosiers they deserve poor healthcare outcomes and earlier this month he delivered a fire-breathing fascist screed in favor of President Trump’s anti-democratic seat-stealing redistricting gambit. But his latest stunt really takes the holiday fruitcake.
Garten posted this lunacy on Christmas Day:
Wait, I thought Republicans spent the last 30 years complaining about the “War on Christmas.” Now they’re committing acts of violence against old Father Christmas himself? On Christmas Day, for Pete’s sake!?! Make it make sense.
These antics would be laughable if these people weren’t also violently-unhinged Christian nationalist extremists.
