As for this: " ....90 percent of all county-elected offices across the state, a new record, on top of a record 19 mayoral offices flipping to Republicans." Lafayette has had a D mayor for as long as I can remember. Next door in West Lafayette they have had an R mayor for many years also. the funny thing is that our D mayor seems or feels much more R than D while the former and current West side R is almost as liberal as I am....go figure.

One small piece of good news: I got a call from his staff that Rep. Hunter Smith (R- northwest of Indy) is against the extra gerrymandering. I think itʻs worth calling your Republican state reps about the gerrymandering, even if youʻve generally given up on calling them, since Republicans themselves are publiclly arguing about this and are not at all united. (Maybe due to Trumpʻs approval ratings dropping so some feel brave enough to cross him??)

I missed a good opportunity to talk to my State Senator Ron Alting who is from Lafayette. He was seated at a table next to mine along with State Rep. Shelia Klinker also of Lafayette (She's probably the most senior Democrat Legislator in the Senate) I wish I had asked his views on Redistricting.

MAGA gangster Governor is doing his best to turn Indiana blood red, as if the current shade of red isn't deep enough or bright enough. He and Rokita make me want to vomit. I've got an important program to attend in a while...so maybe I'll have more comments later tonight.
