Yeah but those concerns were whipped up and even manufactured by “preachers” (puke) who used any means to increase their power. It’s more about tribal signaling, and the one thing I agree with is that the Dems lost their populist progressive touch and looked down on us in “flyover” country. But the streak of anti intellectualism runs strong in rural areas. And there’s all the corporate forces that alligned after Reagan cut the Fairness Doctrine, giving these vile men free rein to prey on our ignorance and fears, dividing us, convincing young men there was no virility in tliberalism and no difference between the parties. Drop out, don’t vote, don’t be a pansy. You can’t leave out the gender politics in this either. Absolute Goebbels politics

I really can’t follow her argument against the view that working class people are not voting in their own interest. To me that’s a charitable way to put it. Without that, I have to just conclude they’re racist etc and that fascism appeals to them. If they’re not duped, then what the fuck are they doing voting for Trump and MAGA?

No, I definitely agree with you, but they conceive of what is in their interest beyond just economic and race terms. I mean, I don't agree with their logic, but if you LITERALLY thought abortion was murder, I can see how one could prioritize that over other things.
