Indiana state government is resting on a deeply rotted foundation. Sadly that rot didn't begin in Indianapolis. It began in the county seats of the majority of our counties. That's where the wrecking ball began rolling. Voters, our friends, neighbors, and families either did not take advantage of the one tool that might have prevented this mess. A vote is a weapon but we've used that weapon and shot ourselfes in the foot more often than not. Saving our nation / cleaning up the mess Trump has created is not going to be solved with one midterm vote, or even the the next presidental election...there are major infrastructure changes that are going to have to be made and those will take time, probably more time that I have left (I'm now closer to 80 than 70) but in the time I have left I don't intend to shut up.

Boy, the Democrats in this state sure seem awfully comfortable going out there and being the Washington Generals. We've done a poor job giving people a reason to go out and use that one tool.

Not just in this state. There aren't many (any?) serious, imaginative solutions that have been presented/pushed/advertised that appeal to us "average" non-billionaires. Until our elected Democrats begin to reconnect with us things are going to remain stagnant. I'm sure you have heard the same ideas for improved governmental operation that I've heard over the past many months....the problems seems to be that the only people presenting those ideas are not elected representatives. Knowing just what is happening in Washington is much harder than just watching the "news" whether that be news from Fox, CBS, PBS or MSNBC. I have been reviewing the voting records of Congressman Jim Baird (IN 4th) this morning. Descriptions of legislation is opaque in the extreme. Titles of bills are often misleading and the brief descriptions with explainations often use the term "and for other purposes" without clearly saying what those "other" purposes are. Seems like an easy way for legislators to hide aspects of legislation that they want to hide. OK...going back to writing my next non political post. Without mixing those posts into my feed I might just give up on the world and go to bed. I'm not sure how you can keep churning out your pod casts on such a regular basis.
